Luke 10:20 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.
After reading this verse, to find out what “those things” are, I went back to verse 1.
Jesus sends out 70 disciples to bring the gospel to the cities where He will also go.
The truth of these verses are that we are sent by God to share the message of salvation. We give the message and His Spirit goes before us. Bringing the message of salvation is bringing the kingdom of God near to people.
Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:21
Those who bear the message must primarily rejoice that they are privileged to be in God’s family. Yes, be happy about preaching and serving and having authority in Jesus’ name but mostly that you are a believer and have eternal life. It is Jesus who wills to reveal who He is to others.
