This morning I read a daily devotion from 4/4 from "Great is Thy Faithfulness" book that discussed money and time, but was really about seeking God. There was the quote of a hymn by Frances Havergal,
that I am quoting here as it inspired me to sing it with all my heart.
=============================
"Take my life, and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold;
Take my intellect and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose."
==============================
This meditation led me to another verse not in this writing but the Lord connected me to it.
"But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul." Deuteronomy 4:29
Seeking with all your heart does have an element of surrender of yourself, your will, your own desires to give yourself to the Lord. How can I do anything with all my heart and all my soul, lest I be surrendered! So there is a beautiful and fitting connection between surrender and seeking.
I also found another connection to seeking with prayer. I will write a second entry about communion with God and prayer as I do not want this entry to be too long!!
