When You Can't Take It Anymore

When you can’t take your trials, struggles, pains, heartaches and disappointments anymore, God can. When you are weak, you are strong if you put your trust in the Lord. The Lord is the Creator and He made you for a purpose to glorify Him. He never leaves you nor forsakes you. His will for you is always for good. Sometimes we do not see or understand the “good” when we look at our circumstances, people, and things in the world. God’s purposes and plans are higher than ours.

God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. That is what makes His grace sufficient for you in everything at all times. When you can’t take “it” and feel like you can’t make “it”, Christ’s power rests upon you. People or circumstances may not change but God’s grace and power make the difference in it and are sufficient for you.

God steps in when you are weak and need His help. It is a good thing that you can’t handle things on your own and in your power because His power will work in you only when you recognize this truth and humble yourself and your will to His. When you realize you need Him and can’t run your own life or be in control, His power can work in you and for you. He is perfect, sovereign, and just. His plans and purposes will always be fulfilled and prevail.

Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am

content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:8-10

Your circumstances may not change, your relationships may not change the way you want them to be, but you have God’s power to strengthen you and guide you through life. The Lord does not change.

The key is surrender and knowing that you need Him. My help does not come from circumstances, other people, relationships, the world, or myself.

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1,2
